To visit the Colony, inspect and select the most suitable

dam site (or sites) and report and advise on the general

scheme for a fee of £1,500 plus travelling, hotel, and

out-of-pocket expenses if this visit could be paid at the

time our partner, Mr. Gourley, is visiting Singapore.

our arrangements now stand Mr. Gourley would be leaving

for the Sast early in October and leaving singapore on

November 15th. We understand that Mr. R.M. Henderson

will be leaving for Hong Kong on November 28th and if we

knew fairly soon, Mr. Gourley could defer his departure

so as to arrive in Hong Kong about the same time as Mr.

Henderson.

If it would not be possible to combine the two visits

in the above manner, our fee would be £3,000.

To examine and report from England on the drawings and

contract documents to be prepared by the Colonial Engineers

for a fee of 1% on the first £250,000 of the estimated

cost of the second instalment, and 1% on the balance of
